Encampment applications for cadet basics are now being accepted. Cadet basics are any non-staff member attending encampment, regardless of CAP grade. The cost of this year's encampment for all participants (cadet basics, cadet staff and senior staff) will be $165. Scholarship money is available for any member that cannot afford the encampment fee. Squadron commanders should send any scholarship requests directly to me.

Applicants must apply on a CAPF 31 through their chain of command to their squadron commander. Each squadron commander will collect all CAPF 31s for cadet basic applicants in their unit and forward them along with 1 check covering all fees to Wing HQ by 01JUN06.

Any applications postmarked after 31MAY06 will be subject to a $10 late fee. It is the responsibility of the squadron commander to ensure the CAPF 31s and fees are sent to Wing HQ before the deadline.

CADET BASIC APPLICANTS WILL NOT MAIL THEIR CAPF 31 AND/OR APPLICATION FEES DIRECTLY TO WING HQ. Any cadet basic applications sent directly to Wing HQ will be discarded. Any fees sent directly to Wing HQ will be returned.

Cadet and Senior Staff members should send their applications and fees to Ohio Wing HQ. These applications and fees WILL NOT be included with the cadet basic applications.

The deadline for Cadet Staff applications has passed. Those individuals that did not apply for cadet staff positions are encouraged to return as cadet basics. This year's encampment will have additional leadership opportunities available to cadet basics during the week.

I would like to announce that Lt Col Tom Snell has been selected as the 2006 Ohio Wing Encampment Commander. Lt Col Snell has extensive experience in Cadet Programs and especially cadet encampments. He has previously served as Encampment Commander, Commandant of Cadets as well as a variety of other support and command positions.
