Message from CAP/CP on 20Dec2006:
We have just been informed that some of the current delays in fulfilling the Cadet Uniform Program orders may continue until March 2007. The Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) is unable to process some of our orders due to supply problems from the uniform manufacturer. Unfortunately, CAP has no control over these delays that are also affecting all of the Air Force. We have been unable to locate another source that can provide the 1,000 - 1,500 orders we generate each month.
As an alternative to waiting, we have determined that we can reduce the number of delays by switching from the wool blend trousers and skirts to the higher priced polyester blend uniform items that AAFES offers. The downside of doing this is that we will end up purchasing fewer uniforms for the year. AAFES is also experiencing some shortages in a few of the polyester blend items but we believe the impact of this to our new cadets will be small. We have already begun the process of changing orders that are in the system.
Please be patient with us as we work closely with AAFES to clear the backorders. We will switch back to the wool blend items as soon as they become available again.
We apologize for any inconvenience and sincerely appreciate your leadership in promoting the Cadet Uniform Program to our new cadets!

If your unit utilizes the quarterly training schedule concept or something similiar as recommended by CAPR 52-16, please send a copy of your schedules to me every quarter at: ohwgdcp@hotmail.com
Wing Cadet Programs would like to begin keeping a record of these so that we can identify the training that cadets are receiving across the wing. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know and I'll be happy to help.
Thanks for your help!
