The following are the available awards:
Cadet of the Year (Phase IV)
Cadet Officer of the Year (Phase III)
Honor Cadet (Phase I and Phase II)

To apply for a NCSA:
-complete online application through e-services by 31Dec
-complete, print, have Sq/CC sign and mail a CAPF31 to OHWG HQ by 31Dec
OHWG HQ Address:
DSCC Attn: Civil Air Patrol

To apply for an annual OHWG award:
-Squadron Commanders must email Lt Col Shanks and I a list of the cadets they would like to nominate for the awards above by 7 Jan

Based on the CAPF31's and Sq/CC nominations received, Lt Col Shanks will develop a report-in time schedule. This schedule will be emailed out to the wing a week before the boards and will be posted on the OHWG Cadet Programs webpage. Cadets are expected to bring with them to each board a completed cadet data sheet:

I understand there have been some problems with the Hawk Mountain and Blue Beret application process. I will work it out with National HQ and keep the wing informed as to what I find out.

If you have any questions, please contact Lt Col Shanks and we will work to get them answered.

Thanks!

Nat'l Cadet Comp help needed

Lt Col Roger Middleton, serving as NCC Chief of Staff, is looking for assistance in staffing the 2007 National Cadet Competition that will be held at Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH from 28Jun-1Jul.

Here is a description of what he is looking for:
I am particularly interested in hearing from members (Cadet and Senior) who would be interested in serving on the volunteer staff. Responsibilities range from set-up and tear down of various locations, communications, vehicle ops, event marshalling and just whatever else may need doing. Cadets should ideally be at least 15, with the grade of C/MSgt, although preference will go to cadet officers. Seniors will generally require to be qualified radio operators with a current CAP Driver's ID.

If you are interested in assisting please let me know and I will coordinate with him.

Thanks!
