On 5 Aug Lt Col Snell sent an email to all Group Commanders stating "In conjunction with the commanders call there will be a squadron cadet commanders call. Since all unit commanders are required to attend this meeting all cadet and composite unit commanders are to be directed to bring their squadron cadet commander with them. There will also be a meeting for all squadron and group cadet program officers. It is extremely important that we get the requested participation from all." The meeting will be at Ohio Wing HQ on 8 Sep from 1100-1400hrs (lunch will be provided) -- it will be a combined meeting for all cadet programs personnel. Below is an agenda of what will be discussed (discussion... not briefing...):
State of the Cadet Program CAC & Cadet Working Group Cadet Flight Training Program CP Calendar Review Encampment Proposed Cadet Conference Programs/Tools Under Development DCP Transition Open Discussion (topics: SDAs, Phase IV cadet involvement, Squadron/Flight/Group/Wing interaction, Cadet Staff assignments, others) Cadet-only Forum (time permitting) Teambuilding (time permitting)
I expect to be able to provide some read-ahead slides a couple days or so beforehand, so check the website for updates as the date gets closer.
Thanks!

Civic Leadership Academy
Ohio Wing cadets,
CAP National Headquarters is now accepting applications from cadets wishing to attend the 2008 Civic Leadership Academy. It’s a tremendous opportunity for cadets to learn about the federal government and explore public service careers in Washington, DC.
Cadets have until 1 October to apply to National Headquarters, BUT keep in mind that it requires the Wing Commanders signature (in writing or via email) for approval to attend, SO applications must be received by the Wing Commander through the Group Commander by 24 September for review... Bottomline: Do not send the Wing Commander a form or an email at the last minute requesting approval, more than 1 month notice is being provided for a reason.
For application procedures, please see the attached flier or the CLA homepage, www.cap.gov/civics. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact me and I will do my best -- as always, wing cadet programs is standing by ready to help. Thanks!
