Many new cadets enter CAP and are given false impressions about the Encampment process, and its purpose. It is certainly unlike anything most of you will have faced before; however, generations of cadets have met the challenge and grown in the process. It prepares you to be a better cadet. Each of you will face, at one time or another, a personal challenge during your time at Encampment. You may come to a point at which you feel insignificant, alone, incapable of dealing with the many situations thrown at you. Do not despair; persevere and you will find yourself rewarded in the end. The cadet staff, from the wing commander to the flight sergeants, are here to help make you successful. You are the future of the CAP Cadet Program, and we have a vested interest in your success. |

This
is not to say this process will be easy, or that the possibility of
failure is non-existent. With graduation from encampment comes one of
the most coveted rewards of the Cadet Program - eligibility for promotion
to cadet officer. This select honor can only be awarded to those who
have proven themselves. Are you ready to rise to the challenge? |
