Members of the National Board,
I am pleased to announce that Civil Air Patrol was recently selected by the National Business Aviation Association, to receive the Al Ueltschi Award for Humanitarian Leadership. The prestigious award is presented annually in recognition of the spirit of service demonstrated by humanitarian leaders within the business aviation field. CAP was selected for this honor because of the selfless hours that are devoted to SAR missions within the organization each and every year. The award will be presented at the NBAA awards luncheon in Orlando, Florida on 20 October, with Major General Courter and Lieutenant General Hopper accepting on behalf of CAP. This award is a widely recognized honor, and I am truly proud of the accomplishments that our volunteers have made to deserve this recognition.
Very Respectfully,

Purpose
To facilitate the advancement of aerospace education and research and development in Ohio, Aerospace Enterprises, Inc. has invited the FAA/Industry Collaborative Decision Making Team (CDM) to join Ohio-based organizations involved in aviation and aeronautics to present and participate in the first Ohio Aviation Forum on October 6, 2009 at the NASA Glenn Research Center, 21000 Brookpark Road, Cleveland, OH 44135, Phone: (216) 433-4000.
The Ohio Aviation Forum is pleased to invite the FAA and Industry CDM representatives to share background information about CDM processes, operations, and philosophy. CDM is a joint FAA/industry initiative to improve Air Traffic Management (ATM) through increased information exchange among key stakeholders throughout the aviation/aeronautical community. This particular CDM Roadshow will serve as a trial run for Concepts for Collaborative Training and will provide CDM exposure to Ohio’s rich aviation and aeronautical history, academia, research & development initiatives, and state and local aviation authorities.
Additional information concerning CDM can be found on the CDM web site located at: http://cdm.fly.faa.gov.
The Ohio Aviation Forum will also feature Ohio-based organizations that are invested in advancing the effectiveness of air traffic management and the aviation/aeronautical industry at large. Presenters will brief forum participants on select aviation/aeronautical research & development initiatives as well as ever expanding educational opportunities in Ohio. Organizations scheduled to present include: NASA, Computer Sciences Corporation, Kent State University, Air Force Institute of Technology, Ohio Aerospace Institute, Ohio Aerospace Initiative, and the State of Ohio.

May 09 AE Newsletter & Message from OHWY DAE
Date: Tue, 2 Jun 2009 15:49:21
I Look forward to meeting & working with you to promote Aerospace Education in Ohio. I'm new at this Job and will appreciate all the help & assistance I can get from you folks.
The May 09 AE newsletter from National is attached. You should find it useful & interesting.
There is an AEO school in Dayton at the beginning of August, I'm sure you have been notified about it. I would like to see some AEO's from Ohio there. You can contact Yvonne Demyan @ yrca11@aol.com or myself for information or to download an application.
We also Have the AEM workshop in July in Dayton , being put on by National`s Susan Mallett. We would like to recruit teachers to join as AEMs, Perhaps they may wish to attend this workshop. They will get a chance to fly in the Fly A Teacher program.
I am affiliated with an aviation webring that gets some interesting aerospace info, websites, PowerPoints, movies, etc. It has literally hundreds of people in 3 different countries submitting some pretty good material. If you would like to receive these emails let me know. Some of you are already getting these.
I would also like to hear from you about interesting projects, visits to Museums, practices, etc that you are doing in your squadrons, groups. I would like to share those among our AEO group. So feel free to contact me by email or phone at 859-282-1590 to discuss these or any other matter you consider important.
Thanks
John Witmer
