180th FW Air Intercept
Date: Saturday, August 1, 2009 8:50 AM
Members of Ohio Wing,
Here is a link to an article about an air intercept performed yesterday by members of the 180th Fighter Wing out of Toledo. In Ohio, CAP participates in training exercises where Ohio Wing aircrews simulate the target aircraft for the F-16 pilots practicing air intercept maneuvers. While the outcome of this very real situation is unfortunate, this is a great example of how CAP directly supports the mission of the USAF and Ohio Air National Guard.
