The 2004 Cadet Initiative will be hosted by Group 4 on 17-19 SEP at the Ravenna Arsenal Training Area in Portage County, Ohio.
This event is a long running field problem competition between cadets from the Civil Air Patrol and the Canadian Air Force's Air Cadets. Each team will be made up of a mixture of 10 cadets and will challenge them with navigation, problem solving, and teamwork tasks. Last year, the Canadian Air Cadets kept the trophy when we held this event in Windsor. Let's make sure it stays here in the US in 2004!
More information will be available on the web this Spring. Please contact the project officer, C/LTC Tom Rehman (TARehman@aol.com) with any questions. Cadet and Senior Members, who are interested in volunteering as staff, please contact C/LTC Rehman at your earliest opportunity.

For the 3rd year in a row, the 96th Composite SQD will host the Ohio Wing Cadet Competition, 17 April 04, at the Stow National Guard Armory. Teams will compete in two categories. Drill Teams, consisting of a large formation of cadets, and Color Guard Teams (based on ceremonial presentations). Cadet teams will be judged on drill performance, academics, physical fitness, and teamwork.
In 2003, the Color Guard team from the 96th won the Ohio Wing CG award and went on to compete at the Great Lakes Region Competition in Michigan Wing.
Group 4's 4th Eagle Composite SQD will play host to six cadets and an escort during this year's International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE) visits to Ohio Wing. The visitors will represent air cadet programs from Israel, Canada, and United Kingdom.
Any Group personnel wishing to assist should contact Capt Debbie Mraz with the 4th.
This year, Ohio Wing will start a rotation between the Cadet and Senior Conferences again. However, the banquet held during each will serve as the overall Wing Banquet. The events will also move around the state from year to year.
