Group 4 Cadet Advisory CouncilSunday, January 16, 2005CAC Welcome Welcome everyone to the Group 4 Cadet Advisory Council!!! First allow me to introduce myself to those who may not already know me. I am Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Jeff Ingersoll the new Group 4 CAC Chairman. I have an open door policy here at the CAC and if at any time you have a question for me please do not hesitate to ask. I am accessible through email at flyingsolo71@yahoo.com or on AIM as flyingsolo71.
Here at the Group CAC it is my goal to continue the tradition of excellence here in Group 4 and to promote inter-squadron activity like never before. However in order to make Group 4 the best in Ohio I am calling on each of you who have been selected by your Squadron Commanders to represent your respective squadrons. As a member of the Group 4 CAC you are expected to attend the scheduled meetings and participate as a liaison between your squadrons and the group. If at anytime you are unable to attend these meetings please contact me and send your alternate to the meeting alone. If both you and your alternate are unable to attend inform me as such in your original contact. At a regular meeting only the primary representative will be a voting member as in the Ohio Wing CAC. However if only the secondary is present then he/she will be permitted to vote on any action brought before the council. The meeting place will rotate each time to allow for all members to have a meeting in which they will not be required to travel. This does not mean that meetings are optional due to travel distance. The first meeting will be held at the Frank H. Kettlewood Composite Squadron in Painesville. After that the next meeting place will be announced at the meeting and posted here as well. Meetings will be held on a monthly basis held the first week of the month. Each time the uniform will blues unless otherwise noted by the Chairman or Group Commander. Please send me an email confirming that you have accepted the position of Squadron Representative or Alternate and listing your current (if applicable) AIM name. I plan to get everything up and running by the first week in February as the first meeting but until then we will be corresponding via email and AIM through the end of January. I wish to thank the Group Commander Lt. Col. Smith and the Cadet Programs Development Officer for Group IV C/Lt. Col Rehman for their help in the creation of a Group 4 CAC as well as those of you who are now a part of this new and exciting opportunity to enhance Group 4. Jeff Ingersoll C/Lt Col, CAP Group 4 CAC Chairman Tuesday, July 13, 2004Group 4 CAC Squadron Commanders,
In the continuing effort to build and nurture the cadet program, within both the wing and the group, I have been in discussions with both Lt Col Smith and C/Lt Col Jeff Ingersoll. I have recruited their support and permission and therefore, it is my pleasure to announce that coming in the next term of the CAC cycle, Group 4 will sport its very own CAC. I have selected C/Lt Col Jeff Ingersoll for the duty of being the first Chair of the CAC. C/Lt Col Ingersoll currently represents the Group on the Wing Cadet Advisory Council and reports to myself on Wing issues. Additionally, he has staffed at many major events, the most recent of which are the Ohio Wing Cadet Conference and the National Cadet Competition. For his work at the National Cadet Competition, he received a Commanders' Commendation. He has also been selected for IACE with the United Kingdom. I and C/Lt Col Ingersoll will work together upon his return from the UK to establish a new Operating Instruction on how the CAC is to be governed. The CAC will be of great assistance to myself and the Group Commander as we work on cadet-oriented activities at the group level, such as Initiative 2004. With this being said, I would like to request that each squadron commander nominate to me one primary and one assistant representative to the Group CAC. This representative shall be different from your Wing representative unless you receive special dispensation from me; having things set up that way keeps more slots open for cadets to attend the CAC, improving leadership training. I will require a signed CAPF2A to be hand-carried to the first meeting by each individual. Currently, I am looking at many different meeting locations; right now, the area of Cleveland where I am seems relatively centrally located and provides facilities. If you need assistance in completing the 2A, please feel free to email me. I look forward to the contributions of the Group CAC to our Group, Wing, and program as a whole. Group 4 continues to lead the way with excellence in operations, aerospace education, and cadet programs, and this will be yet another step towards excellence. Please congratulate C/Lt Col Ingersoll on his appointment and get your nominations in to me by the 1st of August, 2004. The new CAC will sit on its first term and become official representatives on 22 Aug 2004, at which point the primary becomes authorized to wear a green shoulder cord. My thanks to all of you, and I look forward to seeing the contributions of the new CAC. Respectfully, THOMAS A. REHMAN, C/Lt Col, CAP Director of Cadet Programs, Group 4 Headquarters TARehman@aol.com Archives
